RPS England talks to BBC Radio 4 about Epipen shortage

Shortage of Epipens causes concern

Director for England Robbie Turner talked to BBC Radio 4’s You & Yours today about the shortage of Epipens.

An Epipen is an adrenaline injection used to treat the allergic reaction anaphylaxis, caused by a reaction to insect stings or bites, food, drugs or other allergens.

All brands of the device are low in stock causing concern amongst patients, though the children's version is not affected. Robbie said: “Pharmacists are spending massive amount of time tracking down stock and different brands for patients who are obviously stressed about not having access to a life-saving medicine for them.”
