Sandra Gidley elected RPS President

Sandra Gidley has been elected today as the new President of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society by the RPS Assembly.

Sandra was previously Chair of the RPS English Pharmacy Board and is the first woman to be elected President of the RPS in its current form as the professional body.  The other candidate to stand was English Pharmacy Board member Sibby Buckle.

Paying tribute to immediate past President Ash Soni, Sandra thanked him for his “dedication and achievements”.

She stated her future priorities would be increasing engagement with members and growing membership of the RPS, looking again at the advantages of Royal College status and promoting best practice by pharmacists.
