Dr John McAnaw affirmed as Chair of the Scottish Pharmacy Board

The executive team of the Scottish Pharmacy Board has today been agreed. Dr John McAnaw was affirmed as Chair of the Board, which will be his last year of chairing the board following his election for two years last year.

Jonathan Burton was also affirmed for his second year as Vice-Chair of the Board and returning board member Ewan Black was appointed to be the Scottish Pharmacy Board’s second representative on the RPS Assembly.

John McAnaw said: “I am delighted to have received the trust of my fellow board members for another year and I look forward to working with board colleagues and the directorate team in Scotland to deliver on our ambitions for our members and the profession.

“With a change in the ministerial portfolios for health in the Scottish Government, I am looking forward to continue our advocacy work to ensure, amongst other priorities, that all pharmacists have direct access to the Emergency Care Summary.

“Equally, I am pleased to see how successful RPS Local has been to date and I am determined to ensure that our local offer continues to develop to ensure we hear our members’ views and experiences and act on the issues that are most important to them.”
