Pharmacists must be part of COVID-19 vaccination programme

Today we’ve highlighted in the media the vital role that pharmacists should play in the delivery of the Oxford COVID-19 vaccination.

Having responded to news on the approval for rollout on the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine in December, RPS President Sandra Gidley spoke on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, stressing that pharmacists are experienced vaccinators who can help to accelerate the delivery jabs to priority groups.  She has also been interviewed by the Daily Telegraph, iNewsFinancial Times and Daily Mirror

Director of Pharmacy Robbie Turner championed the role of pharmacists on ITV News and in the Guardian, whilst English Pharmacy Board member Ash Soni appeared on Sky News advocating pharmacists involvement in vaccine delivery.
