RPS welcomes Pharmacy Advice campaign

A new Pharmacy Advice campaign, part of Public Health England's Help Us Help You, has launched to encourage the public to visit community pharmacies for advice on minor illnesses.

The campaign highlights to the public that minor health concerns can be treated by pharmacists, such as coughs, colds, tummy troubles and aches and pains.

Claire Anderson, RPS England Pharmacy Board Chair, said:

‘It is great to see this initiative recognise the importance of pharmacists in dealing with minor ailments and illnesses.

"With growing A&E waiting times and research highlighting that many GP appointments could potentially be treated elsewhere, pharmacists can help to ease NHS pressures during this winter period. Community pharmacies are easily accessible and can help people stay healthy and out of hospital.'

Resources from the Pharmacy Advice campaign, which include poster packs for pharmacies to use to help patients, can be found here.
