RPS Scotland to move premises in 2019

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has bought a property at 44 Melville Street in central Edinburgh that will become its new permanent home in Scotland  from late 2019.

Paul Bennett, RPS Chief Executive said:

“This purchase proves our commitment to Scotland and our Scottish members as well as providing an investment opportunity for the Society.  I’m absolutely delighted we have managed to both meet the need to have a strategically positioned base for the RPS in Scotland and remove the Society from any long term rental arrangements. The Society is able to use the properties we now own in Edinburgh, Cardiff and London to ensure we continue our drive to enhance our connection with members, wherever they may be, and gives us a stronger foundation from which to do so.”

Dr John McAnaw, Chair of the Scottish Pharmacy Board said:

“Alex MacKinnon (Director of RPS Scotland) and I are both delighted that the Society has purchased a property in Scotland. It demonstrates the Society’s commitment to our Scottish members and also represents a sound investment for the Society going forward. The new property is ideally positioned in the west-end of central Edinburgh in close proximity to key transport links and is a very fitting new home for the professional body in Scotland. We look forward to welcoming our members to the new building in late 2019”.

Ash Soni RPS President said:

“This is good news for pharmacy in Scotland, Wales and England and demonstrates our focus to put pharmacy at the forefront of healthcare across the whole of Great Britain.”
