Our Museum wins Arts Council Accreditation!

Quality mark achieved

We're thrilled to announce that the RPS Museum has retained Full Accreditation from Arts Council England in our latest review.

The scheme is the professional standard for museums and galleries in England and shows that we're meeting requirements for governance, care of the collection and visitor engagement.  The Museum first received Accredited status 10 years ago.

Keeper of the RPS Museum John Betts said:

“Arts Council England Accreditation is a mark of quality which gives confidence to donors and lenders, funding bodies and the general public. It’s a fantastic boost to the reputation of the Museum and the RPS, putting us on an equal footing with other medical professional bodies.”

Our museum, established in 1842, covers all aspects of British pharmacy history, from the 1400s up to the present. There's something for everyone, whether you're a pharmacist, researcher, or simply interested in the history of healthcare.  It's free to visit and open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
