Supply issues ethinylestradiol 30 microgram/levonorgestrel 150microgram and diamorphine 5mg injection

Information from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) regarding the following supply issues:

Bayer has notified the DHSC that due to capacity constraints, Microgynon 30 tablets will be out of stock from late May until w/c 8 July. 

Pfizer has also informed DHSC they will be out of stock of Ovranette tablets from early June until August 2019.

Both Microgynon 30 and Ovranette contain ethinylestradiol 30 microgram/levonorgestrel 150microgram.  There are several alternative suppliers of ethinylestradiol 30 microgram/levonorgestrel 150microgram tablets.

DHSC and NHSE have been notified by Accord and Wockhardt that they are experiencing issues with the manufacture and availability of diamorphine 5mg injection. They are likely to go out of stock of diamorphine 5mg injection by 27 May 2019 with a resupply date of week commencing 5th August 2019. All other strengths of diamorphine injection are not affected by this issue.
